Idaho Gas Prices Top National Average

As we into one of the busiest travel weekends of the year, many of us are wondering about gas prices.

AAA expects about 31 million drivers to hit the road this weekend. Most of them are paying a little less at the pump, thanks to lower crude oil prices, but that’s not the case in Idaho.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.78 in Idaho, compared to $3.67, the national average.

?The drop in crude oil is generally what’s bringing gas prices down in most parts of the country,? explained GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst Greg Laskoski, ?But there’s pockets where that’s not happening. The pacific northwest is one of those pockets.”

Analysts say that’s because of multiple malfunctions happening in recent months at refineries across the region.

They expect gas prices in Idaho to drop in the next three to six weeks.

Meanwhile, to maximize a car?s fuel efficiency, drivers should check for the right levels of coolant and oil, check tires for the right amount of air pressure and check the battery and cable connections in the car.
