Second vehicle sought in credit union robbery
Bingham County sheriff’s deputies are seeking a second vehicle in connection to a bank robbery at East Idaho Credit Union in Shelley Tuesday. Police say an unarmed man walked into the credit union and passed a note to a teller demanding money. He escaped on foot with an unspecified amount of cash. No one was hurt.
A car, reported stolen in Shelley at about the same time as the 4 pm robbery, was recovered shortly after the hold-up behind Hard Times and Philips 66 in downtown Shelley.
Shelley Police Corporal Kent Swanson said authorities are now looking for another vehicle of interest that was seen in the area Tuesday afternoon. It is described as a small, extended cab, four-door truck, possibly a Ford Ranger, with tinted windows. Witnesses said there were two male occupants, one of whom was wearing what appeared to be a white hoodie.
Swanson said the second vehicle was seen leaving the area within a minute or so after the stolen vehicle was dropped off. It then left the area.
The suspect is a white man believed to be in his early 20’s. He has brown, collar length hair, a slender build and is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall.
Bingham County Sheriff Dave Johnson said officials believe the robbery may have had at least two accomplices.
