Woman dies after jumping out of vehicle

A 34-year-old Idaho Falls woman was pronounced dead Tuesday after Montana deputies said she jumped out of moving vehicle on June 1. The Bonneville County Coroner’s office has identified the woman as Jonell Walker.

On Friday, the Gallatin County, Mont., Sheriff’s Department said it received a 911 call at 10:19 pm on June 1 from a caller who said his wife had jumped out of their moving vehicle on U.S. Highway 20 about one quarter mile west of West Yellowstone.

A Hebgen Basin Fire Department ambulance transported the woman to a rendezvous with an Air Idaho helicopter, which transported her to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Further details have not been released, but the sheriff’s department said the incident is still under investigation. The case has not been classified as a homicide.
