EICAP receives national honor

The Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership has been recognized with the 2012 Award for Excellence in Community Action. The Idaho Falls-based group will receive the award during the national Community Action Partnership’s annual convention in New York City on Aug. 20 to 22.

The Partnership represents 1,000 community action agencies.

EICAP manages a number of innovative service programs including the Haven Shelter, energy conservation, assistance and weatherization programs.

EICAP is the ninth winner of the award since it was established in 2003.

Executive Director Russ Spain said, “To their great credit, the agency staff and Board of Directors have made excellence an ongoing commitment, one that does not stop with the award.”
