3 arrested in Walmart thefts, linked to other burglaries

Three people were arrested on burglary charges after police said a 15-year-old boy was caught stealing more than $250 in merchandise from Walmart on Sunday.

Cynthia Guadalupe Espanoza-Gutierrez, 21, and Rocio Espinoza Gutierrez, 18, and the boy were also suspects in earlier burglary cases at Walmart and other local retailers over the last few weeks.

Police responded to the store on Utah Avenue at about 5:40 p.m. for a theft in progress.

Employees said that the boy concealed several VTECH video games and game player in a diaper bag. The nine items totaled $255. During the investigation, officers learned about the other thefts allegedly committed by the boy, Espanoza-Gutierrez and Gutierrez.

Around 30 stolen items were recovered from the car driven by Espanoza-Gutierrez and Gutierrez from at least four thefts.
