Icy roads cause numerous accidents

Be careful driving out there.

There were umerous slide-offs and accidents in eastern Idaho on Monday morning.

Bannock County had 16 accidents with two injuries between 8 and 9 a.m., the Pocatello Police Department said.

One of the accidents was a vehicle vs school bus at Yellowstone and Alameda, where the vehicle caught fire.

Idaho State Police said it spend much of Monday morning responding to multiple crashes and slide-offs in the Pocatello, Blackfoot and American Falls areas. There were also accidents in Bonneville County, including a rollover on Foothill Road.

“Motorists are urged to check roads conditions first thing in the morning and plan accordingly,” the Pocatello police said in a news release. “Make sure your vehicle is prepared for hazardous road conditions. Drive defensively, increase following distances and slow down.”
