Fire destroys Chester area home

A Chester area home was destroyed by fire Saturday night.

South Fremont Fire District firefighters were called to 745 N 2500 E at 8 pm. A district spokesman said the home could not be saved by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.

No one was home at the time and no one was injured. The house is owned by Evan Blanchard and was being rented by Ben Carpenter.

Because of the extent of the damage, a fire district spokesman said the cause of the fire remains unknown.
