Road conditions help police apprehend driver

Icy road conditions helped end a police chase in Pocatello on Sunday.

When authorities tried to stop a vehicle for reckless driving at South Fifth and Interstate 15, the driver tried to elude officers, police said. When the driver got to the I-15 northbound on-ramp, he slid off the icy road.

The driver, Dennis Lewis, 38, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, felony eluding an officer and two felony counts of injury to a child.

The chase lasted for two minutes.
