Made in Idaho: Treasures of Teton Valley

For weeks we’ve been encouraging our viewers to buy Christmas gifts “Made in Idaho.” This time, we found a plethora of Idaho treasures in Teton Valley.

Did you know some of the most beautiful pool tables in the world start in Tetonia?

At Drawknife Billiards John Hansford is the artist behind rustic log game room furnishings.

And he starts from scratch. He pulls off the bark off Idaho wood with a drawknife and eventually creates one-of-a-kind works of art.

“It’s practical art. Furniture art. We’re proud of our product,” said Hansford.

And he should be. His tables sell for anywhere from $6,500 to $40,000.

A few miles down the road, we hit the brand new Grand Teton Vodka, made with potatoes. Six months old, and already moving 60 cases a month.

“We’re here. We’ve got potatoes. We’ve got great water. Why don’t we make potato vodka?” said creator John Boczar.

Grand Teton Vodka already scored an impressive 94 from the Beverage Tasting Institute.

A few more miles into Driggs and five blocks off the main drive, there’s magic happening at Heron Glass, run by husband-and-wife team Ralph Mossman and Mary Mullaney. Nats

This exquisite art is called off hand glass blowing. Orders come in from everywhere.

” We sell nationwide. We could live anywhere,” said Mullaney. “We choose to live in idaho. “

And we’re glad they do.

You can’t skip Victor. And you can’t skip Grand Teton Brewing – home-brewed beer sold in 16 states, including South Carolina. But it is Made in Idaho.

“Everything we do we use as much Idaho ingredients as we possibly can. That makes us a great ambassador for the state,” said Jen Chiappa of Grand Teton Brewing.

And don’t forget the soda pop. Root beer, black cherry, and mountain berry brewed on site.

And for anyone that is searching for a good granola bar, search no further than Kate’s Real Foods.

The woman that created this delicacy was making granola in her kitchen so she didn’t have to stop for lunch while skiing. Her friends insisted she market it. No one has to apologize for giving this made in Idaho product as a Christmas gift. The gift pack is $3 a bar.
