Layaway angels spread Christmas cheer
The layaway angels have returned to eastern Idaho.
A new trend popped up during last year’s holiday season of people paying off layaway tabs for complete strangers at department stores.
It happened again this year at the Idaho Falls Walmart.
Three people came in and paid off balances for families.
Employees hope the goodwill will continue to hold strong year after year.
“It makes me feel real good knowing that there are people out there that will do that,” said Megan Berrett, who handles layaway orders at Walmart. “One lady came in to pick hers up, and when she found out the balance was a penny, she about cried.”
Every layaway angel insisted they pay for orders with kids’ toys.
