Stolen car containing humane society gifts recovered

A car stolen from a Pocatello convenience store Dec. 13 was recovered Saturday after a pursuit by Blackfoot police and the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office.

Pocatello police said authorities apprehended a man and a woman after the vehicle became stuck in the snow between Blackfoot and the Ross Fork Creek area in Fort Hall.

The car was stolen while parked at the Maverik Store on East Alameda in Pocatello. It was loaded with donations intended for the Bannock Humane Society. The car was stolen by a man riding a BMX bicycle when the driver entered the store to make a purchase.

It’s unknown if any of the donations, including pet toys, food and other items, were recovered.
