Despite weather, Idaho Falls airport doesn’t see major delays

Snow-covered roads and cautious drivers caused crowded terminals and full flights at Idaho Falls Regional Airport during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year.

Airport Operations Manager Brett Bees says even with the snow, there hasn’t been major delays, but he said even though IFRA is a small airport, it’s still important to arrive early.

“We recommend that you be here two hours ahead of time and have your documentation; your driver’s license your children’s birth certificates. It will expedite your trip through the screening checkpoint and onto the aircraft much quicker,” said Bees.

The More family traveled from Arizona to Idaho Falls with two kids, and following those tips made for a smooth trip.

“We haven’t experienced any delays, the flight over here was really smooth, and the lines were easy. Even TSA (Transportation Security Administration) was really great to get us hustled though; seems like they had more workers to get us through faster,” said Tylor More.

More’s 3-year-old daughter said she’s excited to play in the snow and build snowmen.

But for travelers hitting the roads, the snow caused sliding cars and accidents along Interstate-15.

“Just drive careful to the airport. We want to make sure it’s a happy holiday,” said Bees.

After all, the point of traveling this time of year is to get toone’s destination safely and enjoy the holidays. Bees suggests to checking flight online or by phone before arriving at the airport.
