Snowboarder suffers head injury in Jackson Hole
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort says a snowboarder suffered a serious head injury after crashing into rocks at around 3:45 p.m. Sunday.
Resort spokesperson Anna Cole said the man was boarding alone between “Zero G” and “Spacewalk,” two steep chutes outside the ski area on Rendezvous Mountain. She said he apparently became confused and went over a steep cliff.
The ski patrol was on the scene within 5 minutes of the incident. Cole said they rushed the man to the Teton Village Clinic, where they met a helicopter that transported him to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
The man’s mother told resort officials Monday that her son was in stable condition.
