2 caught burglarizing home, say police

Two men were arrested after police said an Idaho Falls man caught them burglarizing his home.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of Mound for a report of a burglary in progress around 12:30 p.m. Sunday. The owner of the home said that while he was shoveling snow next door, he observed a suspicious black GMC pickup truck in his driveway.

Police said the homeowner found 38-year-old William D. Emery and 27-year-old Sean J. Saari inside his home taking various items, including DVDs, speakers, a sports bag and meat. After being confronted by the owner, the two fled.

Officers found both suspects in the 1100 block of Blaine. Garbage bags with stolen items were found in their possession. Police arrested them on burglary charges.
