Bridger-Teton names interim forest supervisor

Cheryl Probert has been named Acting Supervisor of the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Jackson. The 25-year Forest Service veteran is currently serving as Deputy Forest Supervisor on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah.

Probert will take over the post March 25.

Current Supervisor Jacque Buchanan will become director for renewable resources in Lakewood, Colo., after her last day on the Bridger-Teton on March 22.

Originally from Vermont, Probert began her Forest Service career as a seasonal range technician. She worked on the Targhee and Caribou-Targhee National Forest for 15 years.She began as a range conservationist, served as acting wildlife biologist, then became the forest planner and forest national environmental policy act, appeals, and litigation coordinator.
