2 die in weekend crashes

A pair of crashes in eastern Idaho killed two people over the weekend.

The Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office said a three-car crash happened Sunday afternoon on Highway 89 near Paris, Idaho.

Deputies said there was blowing and drifting snow, and the cars were driving too fast for the weather.

Several people were taken to the hospital, where a 12-year-old girl died from her injuries

Another accident occurred Sunday night on Highway 91 near Swan Lake in Bannock County.

Idaho State Police said 20-year-old Guy “Clancey” Rinderknecht drove off the road and overcorrected.

His car rolled and then caught on fire.

Police say he was thrown from his car and died at the scene.

Two passengers were treated at hospitals.
