Police: 2 hospitalized after woman sets self on fire

Two people were badly burned in a fire on 2280 Tasman Ave. in Idaho Falls on Wednesday. Idaho Falls police said it appears the woman set herself on fire, and the man was hurt trying to put it out.

The Idaho Falls Fire Department has categorized the cause of the fire as intentional.

Fire, ambulance and police personnel responded to the blaze, which appeared to have started around 3 p.m.

When crews arrived, they found the pair with severe burns in the driveway. The man is at Eastern Idaho Medical Center and the woman was flown to Salt Lake City. Their names have not been released.

The fire, which burned in the garage attic space, was put out.
