Horses move out of farm at center of suspected animal abuse case

Our station has confirmed some of the horses at the center of a suspected animal abuse case in Bonneville County are moving out of 25th E. farm, and are on their way to better homes.

On Monday night, our station has learned 2 of the horses have left the farm and will ultimately be placed with a rescue.

Reporter Caleb James first reported this story last Thursday after a fire-storm on social media alerted our station to the conditions at the farm, owned by Sharon Wilson, on 25th E in Bonneville County.

On Friday, the Bonneville County Sheriff said Wilson was given 2 citations related to the case. Those citations were connected to two specific horses, and on Monday, Bonneville Sheriff Sgt. Karl Casperson said those 2 horses have been released voluntarily by Wilson to the sheriff’s office.

Those 2 horses will receive veterinary care for medical issues associated with their conditions.

From there, the sheriff’s office is working with local horse rescue agencies to arrange for adoptions of those horses.

While those horses are in Bonneville County Sheriff custody, their medical bills and check-ups become the responsibility of that agency, and the office is paying for those vet visits.
