Crowley Road construction will end
Intermountain Gas Company has been working on installing new pipelines on Crowley Road for the past year, and all of its construction is certainly causing frustration with neighbors and drivers.
So what kind of condition is the road in?
If you’ve driven on Crowley Road within the past year, chances are you’ve run into construction — parts of the road are unpaved, and now there are delays. Neighbors are wondering: When is this all going to end?
“You don’t want all the noise and the dust flying in your face, so i pretty much stay inside all day,” said nearby resident Patsy Anderson.
Anderson has lived off of Crowley Road for 22 years. But the past year, she’s been frustrated with all the construction.
“We’re just tired of detours coming down our street and people running over our grass,” said Anderson.
Many parts of the road have been dug into, causing rough terrain for vehicles to drive on. And now a new frustration: Drivers are experiencing long delays from construction that has turned part of the road into one lane.
“People are getting flustered because they’re late for work,” said Anderson.
The reason for all of this construction: Intermountain Gas Company has been putting in new pipeline to enhance gas delivery from Pocatello to St. Anthony. According to Intermountain Gas Company spokesman Byron Defenbach, the project was completed last fall, but minor details are still being completed.
But there’s good news to all of the neighbors and travelers on Crowley Road: Repairs are coming soon.
“The work is slated to begin May 17th or so, so if not this week, it’s expected to work next week. It’s expected to run no later than the end of July,” said Defenbach.
And even better news: Taxpayers won’t be paying extra for the Crowley Road repairs.
“The pipeline project and the ensuing mitigation going to be down is being paid entirely by Intermountain Gas by the normal utility paying process,” said Defenbach.
Once Intermountain Gas, has finished the repairs, the Bonneville County Road and Bridges Division will make sure it’s up to county standards.
If the new Crowley Road is approved, Intermountain Gas Company is under a one-year warranty to take care of the road.
