Survey: Most District 93 patrons in favor of bond

Most Bonneville School District 93 patrons are in favor of a $92 million bond, according to a survey released a couple of weeks ago. The survey had four options to solve overcrowding in secondary schools.

Two options require a bond to build new middle schools, and possibly a high school. That comes with up to a $92 million price tag for taxpayers. For an earlier story describing the other options, see http:// bit.ly/1aijLZ4 .

After 881 responses, results are showing about 86 percent are in support of the bond. Of those in support of the bond, the 86 percent support or strongly support building a new high school.

Most responses are from parents. The bond will go to official vote in March.

“That’s not an election where they are voting for other positions like say governors race or even a presidential race a few years ago, most of the people who show up to vote in March will probably be our parents, but we absolutely want everyone in the community to come and voice their support or concern with the bond and let us know how they feel,” said Scott Whoolstenhulme, director of school improvement and assessment in Bonneville School District.
