Information Center in Jackson helps Chinese tourists
With an increasing number of Chinese tourists at national parks, two people in Jackson, Wyoming are trying to make their visits easier.
Local broker Bruce Simon said Jackson sees four to eight tour busses of Chinese guests a day. He said many restaurants and businesses have reached out to the center for help translating menus and guides.
Li Wang, the center’s manager, spent most of her life in China. She said schools in China cover Yellowstone in Geography classes, and visiting is at the top of everyone’s list.
“Every Chinese knows Yellowstone,” said Wang. “We want to see Grand Teton and Yellowstone, and we love bears.”
Simon said Jackson offers experiences China cannot.
“Things like the Jackson Hole shooting experience,” said Simon. “Chinese can’t have guns, they love to shoot a gun.”
