Two arrested after fight with Pocatello police
Two men were arrested early Friday morning after a fight with Pocatello police.
Police were called to the Hookah Bar on South 4th Avenue around 2:30 a.m. to investigate a reported assault. Giovanni Luna, 19, and William Carson Price, 22, left the area after threatening to return and kill the victim and other witnesses with knives, police said.
While police were talking to the victim and witnesses, the car the suspects were in returned through a nearby alley. Luna was driving. When witnesses pointed it out, Luna drove away as officers tried to wave it down.
An officer stopped the car in the 300 block of North Second, and both suspects ran away in opposite directions. Another officer and his K-9 partner joined the pursuit.
During the chase, Luna got into a fight with officers, who used their Tasers. Police later found Price hiding in the backyard of a local business at 427 N. Fourth.
Three officers received minor injuries and damage to their uniforms, and Luna was treated for numerous injuries he received as the result of falls during the foot chase and fights with policemen.
Luna was arrested on charges of assault, resisting and obstructing, disturbing the peace, and disorderly conduct. Price was arrested on two outstanding warrants.
