Man convicted of sexual abuse in Bingham County
A man was found guilty of sexual abuse charges in Bingham County this week.
On Wednesday, a jury convicted Jose Luis Lopez Sanchez, 42, on five counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under 16 and two counts of sexual abuse of a child under 16, Bingham County Prosecutor Cleve Colson announced Friday.
Sanchez was living in Blackfoot at the time the acts were committed.
Each charge of lewd and lascivious conduct carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment and a $50,000 fine, and each sexual abuse charge carries up to 25 years imprisonment and a $50,000 fine.
Sanchez will be sentenced in February.
