Judge is once again a no-show in Holt case
A court hearing for Joshua Holt has once again been delayed after the judge failed to show for a second time.
Joshua Holt is the Utah man with Pocatello ties who is currently being held in a Venezuelan jail. Holt is accused of being a U.S. terrorist and spy.
Holt has been in jail since June. His family was hoping the judge would either throw out the case, or at least allow Holt to be released until trial.
But at Josh’s first scheduled hearing on Sept. 15, the judge did not show up. His hearing was rescheduled for Tuesday. Once again, the judge was a no-show.
Josh’s mother, Laurie Holt, said the family still hasn’t gotten an explanation for why the judge continues to not show up.
She posted on Facebook Tuesday that she is completely heartbroken about the situation, stating, “This is just too much. My heart is dying each day little by little.”
Laurie Holt said Josh’s health keeps continuing to decline.
She said as of right now, Josh’s hearing has not been rescheduled.
