Pocatello man arrested after crashing while fleeing police

A Pocatello man was arrested on several charges early Wednesday morning after he tried to flee from police and crashed his car a short distance later.

Pocatello Police arrested 35-year-old Marcus Vaughan Tharpe after he led officers on a short pursuit at about 2:00 a.m. Tharpe ran from police at 1000 W Eldridge and the chase ended at Quinn and Hawthorne after he crashed his car.

Tharpe was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance(meth), marijuana possession, felony eluding, resisting and obstructing, and an additional warrant.
