Bull moose shot and left to waste near Fish Creek Summit

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking information about a bull moose that was shot and left to waste on private property just south of Fish Creek Summit near Lava Hot Springs. The incident likely took place the night of October 14th or the morning of October 15th.

The property owners found the bull moose injured but still alive and immediately called Fish and Game. The moose passed before officers arrived to investigate the incident. The bull moose had been shot twice, including once in the skull cavity.

The meat was salvaged and donated.
