Man with Idaho ties killed in California plane crash
Authorities say the wreckage of a small plane that went missing over the Sierra Nevada has been found, with a man’s body near it.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office says search crews located the wreckage Tuesday afternoon southwest of Lake Schmidell. The rugged area is about five miles west of Lake Tahoe’s Emerald Bay, which was the plane’s last known position.
The office says the body of, Tyrell Kremer, 52, was found outside of the wreckage. Kremer grew up outside of Blackfoot. He was currently the President of a company out of Mackay, called Hang-em-up.
The plane was returning to Sacramento from Idaho when it went missing Saturday during a storm that dumped snow and rain and brought gusty winds to the area. Officials interrupted their search for the aircraft Sunday and Monday because of the weather.
