Families head to U-Pick Red Barn one last time for season

Saturday was the last day the popular U-Pick Red Barn opened for the season in Idaho Falls.

Families came and went — grabbing last-minute pumpkins and taking family photos. Families and even students on field trips can go through the straw maze, get on train rides and paint some pumpkins.

Members of one local family laughingly told how their outing to get Halloween pumpkins is an annual affair: “To go get pumpkins is a family tradition, but I think this is our first time coming to this one?” “Nope, we’ve come a couple of times.” “Oh! Second time coming to this one. We’ll go home, we’ll all carve the pumpkins in the backyard — make a mess.”

Many of the kids who visit say their favorite part of the barn are the train rides. U-Pick Red Barn will be open back up for next year’s season.
