Blackfoot Police Department holds dodgeball tournament as reading reward

The Blackfoot Police Department wanted to congratulate these students on making their Accelerated Reading goals.

The students are required to read certain amounts and take quizzes throughout the month in order to receive points, resulting in a celebration.

This program is designed to teach students to set realistic and achievable goals.

Stoddard Elementary fifth grade teacher, Kim Buck stated, “When they get their goal accomplished, we do a fun activity, and we try to come up with a fun activity every month so they really want to go after it. This month, the police department approached us and said let’s have a dodgeball game, and we said yes!”

Buck is hopeful that this event will continue on in the future when the students reading goals are met.
