Man held after breaking into Wyoming Governor’s residence

Security is being increased in and around the Wyoming Governor’s residence after an incident at the home early Tuesday.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol said a man gained entrance to the residence at approximately 1:30 a.m. The man activated a fire alarm then hid inside the house.

Firefighters and Cheyenne Police Department officers responded and quickly discovered the suspect. He was identified as Antonie Lewis.

Governor Matt Mead expressed his gratitude to the firefighters and police responding to the incident.

Lewis was booked into the Laramie County Detention facility. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, which is assisting in the investigation, said he would be charged with aggravated burglary and criminal entry.
