Proposed Idaho law targets slowpokes in fast lane

The senate voted in favor of a bill that would crack down on freeway fast-lane slowpokes by making it illegal to go slower than the speed limit in the fast lane for a period of time.

H0471 passed Wednesday with a 22-13 vote.

Violators could get a $90 ticket.

Those who were opposed to the proposal said the language already exists in current state law.

H0471 also cleared the House, and now it heads to the governor’s desk.
