Pocatello Police award seven members who saved lives

The Pocatello Police recognized seven members of their Department who go above and beyond when duty calls. This ceremony was held to publicly thank those responders who often go unrecognized.

All seven of the recipients in some way saved a life, and put their own safety aside. Three officers in particular: Kevin Buttes, Brandon Bale, and Ryan Malone responded to a crash victim who struck a parked car last December. The officers performed CPR on the unconscious male until a pulse was detected.

“It was humbling for me to see him after, to see him talking and laughing with his family, and to be back home…to see the reaction from his children, that their father was back home,” said Officer Buttes.

Deputy Chief, Jim Peterson said in his closing remarks, “As a staff, we would like to thank the officers from the Pocatello Police Department for what you do everyday, and especially recognize those that received those awards today–they are well deserved.”
