United Way hosting community conversations
The United Way of Idaho Falls and Bonneville County is planning a series of “community conversations” focusing on health, education, and financial stability.
United Way said it will partner with Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership, Eastern Idaho Public Health, and VOICE Advocacy for meetings scheduled across the upper valley region.
The meetings will focus on the United Way ALICE Project, which studied financial hardship in the state in conjunction with Rutgers University.
Among other things, that project determined 41 percent of eastern Idaho households are struggling to provide basic needs and are unable to cover the costs of what it takes to live and and work in the modern economy.
United Way said it invests over half a million dollars in the communities it represents and wants to insure the funds are addressing communities’ most critical issues.
The community meetings are scheduled as follows:
