Blackfoot names new Police Chief

The city of Blackfoot has appointed long-time officer Scott Gay as the new Chief of Police.

Gay will assume the position when Chief Kurt Asmus retires June 25.

Gay was unanimously approved by the Blackfoot City Council Tuesday night.

The department maintains 27 sworn officers and three full-time support staff. The department also maintains a reserve officer program and an active Citizens on Patrol program.
