Local 9-year-old turning to community for help

A local 9-year-old is turning to the community for help. Elizabeth Davis is an Idaho Falls ice skater and hopes to leave her mark as one of the first figure skaters in her area to make it to the Olympics. She is on her way to make that dream come true by being invited to a national tournament in Florida. There is only one problem: Her family is unable to provide the money to send her. They are hoping to raise $3,000 to cover her flight, hotel cost, food, and the competition fee. Elizabeth’s ice skating coach, Destiny Blatter said, “We are so blessed to live in such a wonderful community. Lizzie is so excited to represent our community. What a cool thing it is to be able to support a child’s dream and our community really rocks in the way we support one another.” Davis said, “I mostly try to go to every competition as I can. Thank you for helping me.” Elisabeth’s mother has set up a GoFundMe account so far they have raised four hundred and thirty dollars. Elisabeth was able to raise ten dollars on her own.
