Power restored to Ammon area

Rocky Mountain Power reports electric service has been fully restored to Ammon area customers. The cause of the regional outage was a loss of transmission, but the root cause of the incident is still under investigation.

Rocky Mountain Power reports its Ammon and Ucon substations have been restored. Crews are working to restore the Sandcreek Substation.

All Bonneville District 93 schools and White Pine Charter School closed Wednesday due to a widespread power outage.
Rocky Mountain Power reports 17,337 customers in the Ammon area were without power. The exact cause is unknown, but crews have been dispatched to restore servcie. The outage happened due to a lack of transmission, according to Rocky Mountain Power officials in Salt Lake City.
The Sand Creek, Ammon, and Ucon substations were affected.
Two primary areas were affected. One is on the southeast side of Ammon and another is east of Ucon.
The first reported outages were at around 8 a.m. At this time, the utility said it hopes to have power restored by 10 a.m.
In the name of security, at the Tie Breaker school, a new system was used to connect students with their parents. Parents reporting to the school waited in the foyer, while runners were used to find an individual student and reunite them with their parent.
