Suspect in custody as officers investigate pharmacy robbery

Chubbuck Police have identified the suspect in the robbery of Smith’s Food and Drug Thursday as William J. Graham, 21, of Pocatello.

Graham was arrested without incident by Pocatello Police and Bannock County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday night.

“Our agency had numerous officers, and support staff involved in this case throughout the day and into the late hours last night. Their efforts and commitment to public safety are greatly appreciated,” Chief Bill Guiberson said.

Guiberson said the case is still active and the investigation is continuing.

Chubbuck Police Department officers responded to a report of a robbery at the pharmacy inside Smith’s Food and Drug Store on Yellowstone Ave. around noon Thursday.

Police were told an adult male suspect had threatened employees and told them that he was in possession of a firearm. They were also told he had left the area in a vehicle.

Chubbuck Police Department, Pocatello Police Department and Bannock County Sheriff’s Office officers were notified of the robbery and began looking for the suspect.

At approximately 3:09 p.m., officers with the Pocatello Police Department and the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect in the 1900 Block of South 4th who was placed into custody without incident.

The investigation is still developing rapidly, and officers are still in the process of gathering information.
