One dead in crash near McCammon

Idaho State Police investigated a single car crash on I-15 at milepost 49 near McCammon.

41-year-old Qing Ye of Shanghai, China was driving south in a 2017 Toyota Camry.

Ye went off the left shoulder, overcorrected and went across both lanes of travel and onto the right shoulder.

The car hit rocks and rolled, coming to rest on its side.

One passenger sitting in the back, 71-year-old Juming Ye of Shanghai was ejected and died of his injuries at the scene.

The right lane was blocked for two and a half hours.

Qing Ye and a front passenger, 48-year-old of Shanghai were wearing seatbelts. Ye and juvenile passenger were not wearing seatbelts.

The juvenile was taken to Portneuf Medical Center by ground ambulance.
