State approves matching funds for CWC Jackson
The Wyoming State Building Commission has approved a 50-50 match of $7,577,330 to help the Wyoming Community College Commission move forward with a Central Wyoming College Jackson Center.
Teton County is using a voter approved Special Purpose Excise Tax, philanthropy and other resources to provide local public funding support.
“We are so excited and grateful to the state and the Jackson community for their support of this project. Together we are realizing that we can bring to fruition, a full-service community college that will serve the greater Jackson and Teton communities,” President Brad Tyndall said.
CWC Foundation Director Shan Kingston of Jackson said the county was in a unique position to fund, grow, and support quality higher education infrastructure aligned with community needs.
Programs at the CWC Jackson Center campus have focused on health sciences, culinary and hospitality, business and entrepreneurship.
“As we in this community know, CWC deserves our continued support; support which has been shown by matching private philanthropy, the SPET ballot approval and by enrollment. We look forward to CWC’s continued contributions to our community, ” said State Senator Mike Gierau.
