Brilliant Christmas lights in Chubbuck
CHUBBUCK, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - Tis' the season to show your Christmas cheer, and the City of Chubbuck is cheering on all the home and business owners that are lighting up their homes with brilliant Christmas lights displays.
It's the annual Christmas outdoor decorating contest and festival. Judges from the city have been busy all week long enjoying beautiful Christmas displays. They have seen everything from classic beauty to over the top displays that would make Clark Griswald proud.
The judges are looking for winners in several categories including Best Animation, Most Colorful, Most Traditional, Spirit of the Season, Mayor's Choice, Best Business, The Clark Griswold award for the most lights and the Best Overall .
They will announce the winners at the Chubbuck Christmas in the Park Celebration Friday night from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cotant Park. The celebration is also to commemorate the 70th birthday of the City of Chubbuck.
Hot Chocolate, cookies and candy canes will be served. The Celebration will also feature music by Highland High School and the park lighting ceremony.
Winners will receive a special sign to place in their yard. After the winners are announced we will post them and the addresses on our website so you can check them out yourself.
