CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Fire ended a 10-game league winless streak, beating D.C. United 1-0 on a 78th-minute goal by second-half substitute Fabian Herbers. Chicago had lost seven league games and tied three since beating Sporting Kansas City 3-1 at home on March 19. The skid was one shy of the team record, set from April to June 2011 and matched from October 2020 to May 2021. Herbers entered in the 65th minute and scored off an assist from Kacper Przybylko.
