Labor board seeks to force Amazon to reinstate fired worker

KIFI

NEW YORK (AP) — A federal labor board wants to reinstate an Amazon employee who was fired from his New York City warehouse job after leading a protest in the early days of the pandemic calling for better COVID-19 protections. Gerald Bryson got into a dispute with another worker while off the job during the protest. Amazon later fired him for violating its vulgar-language policy. An Amazon spokesperson questioned the timing of the labor board’s decision to try getting Bryson his job back. Amazon noted the decision comes just ahead of next week’s vote by workers at the Staten Island facility on whether to form a union.
