Arrest made after accident that killed 17-year-old

BINGHAM COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 10/26/23: The Bingham County Sheriff's Office reports after further investigation into the fatality accident that occurred on Oct. 15 at 900 W and Highway 39, Marco D Cuevas was taken into custody.

He was arrested on a felony warrant on Tuesday for vehicular manslaughter and driving without privileges. His bond has been set at $250,000.

"We again offer our condolences to the family and friends affected by the tragic loss of this incident," the sheriff's office said.


ORIGINAL 10/17/23: Bingham County deputies continue to investigate an accident that killed a 17-year-old boy. 

It happened Saturday night on Highway 39 and 900 West near Snake River High School. 

The Bingham County Sheriff's Ooffice reports a driver of a pickup was heading south on 900 West and failed to stop at the stop sign.

They say he ran into another pickup heading east on the highway.

The driver and the 17-year-old in that pickup were taken to the hospital where the teen passed away. 

A private car transported the other driver to the hospital. Their condition is unknown.

They believe alcohol is a factor in the crash, but no charges have been filed yet as they continue to investigate.
