Woman dies from injuries after Blackfoot crash

BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI) - On Wednesday at 11:15 a.m., Blackfoot Police rolled up on a two-vehicle crash that had just occurred at the intersection of W. Bridge St, and Cedar St. in Blackfoot.

The crash involved a passenger car driven by a 61-year-old Blackfoot woman and a pickup truck driven by a 28-year-old Blackfoot woman.

Blackfoot Police Officer and Bingham County Deputy began lifesaving measures on the 61-year-old woman, and Blackfoot Fire and EMS took over lifesaving efforts and transported her to Bingham Memorial Hospital. The 61-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at Bingham Memorial. The other driver was able to leave the scene in a private vehicle. 

The crash investigation closed W. Bridge St. from Pacific St. to Cedar St. for about an hour. The crash investigation is being conducted by the Blackfoot Police Department and is ongoing.

No further information will be released at this time.
