1 arrested in Paonia double homicide case
LEMHI COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE: On Wednesday, Delta County Sheriff’s Office investigators, along with the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office in Salmon, Idaho State Police, Colorado Bureau of Investigation and other Federal law enforcement partners executed a search warrant at a residence in Salmon belonging to 65-year-old Mark Burns.
Burns was ultimately arrested and charged with the murder of 69-year-old Michael Arnold and 65-year-old Donna Gallegos. Arnold and Gallegos were found deceased in their Paonia home on Black Bridge Rd east of Paonia on February 4, 2022, and the investigation revealed they had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The Lemhi County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with the Idaho State Police, the Delta County Sheriff's Office in Colorado and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, served a search warrant on a home north of Salmon Wednesday.
Due to the high-risk nature of the warrant, Lemhi County Sheriff Steve Penner said all precautions were taken to ensure the safety of the residents of Lemhi County.
An arrest was made in Lemhi County in connection with the warrant service.
No other information was available about the nature of the arrest.
