Judge denies Randy Larkin’s bond reduction request

BONNEVILLE COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI ) - Randy Larkin returned to court on Tuesday for a hearing.

The 58-year-old was asking for his bail to be lowered so he can leave the Bonneville County Jail.

Larkin maintains he needs back surgery and bail needs to be lowered so he can leave.

The judge denied bond reduction.

It's still set at $1 million.

Larkin is being held in the Bonneville County Jail, under first-degree murder, for the shooting of 36-year-old Morey Pelton back in May of 2022, at the Lane Creek rest area east of Ririe.

Prosecutors have chosen not to pursue capital punishment in this case.
