Busy season for the National Parks is here, and the National Park Service is trying to help people plan ahead and enjoy summer travel. So whether you are planning a trip to Yellowstone, or to Grand Teton National Park the Parks Service wants us to be ready to enjoy our next adventure.

Their sound is instantly recognizable, and it can draw a crowd. The Madison Fire Department Pipe Brigade made stops at cemeteries all over Madison County, to honor the fallen and perform on their bagpipes.

For the first time this spring FunLand in Idaho Falls turned on its rides and brought joy to many families. Many were also able to create new memories along the way.

Last year in Yellowstone National Park a man lifted a baby bison (red dog) out of the river after it was separated from its herd and was struggling in the river. The red dog eventually had to be put down as the herd would no longer accept it in its ranks.

For the first time this spring the gates to Yellowstone National Park have opened. The park’s opening also lined up with National Park Week, and to celebrate, like many parks across the nation, entry into the park on Saturday, April 20th was free.

After over forty years, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office can say they now have a new jail facility. The new jail took two years to build and the facility has much more space and up-to-date technology.

Camp Hayden also had a visit from the Easter Bunny as they held an easter egg hunt at the waterfront at the Snake River Landing.

The easter bunny came early to Idaho Falls, and he stopped at the Snake River Landing. Leaving thousands of eggs so children could have fun and search after them. Some of the kids even had a strategy going into the hunt.

The nationwide manhunt, which gripped the Gem State, concluded with the arrests of Skyler Meade, Nicholas Umphenour, and Tonia Huber, after an intense 36 hours.

Some local veteran support groups have found ways to give back to some of our local heroes in the area. The way they gave back? Taking our heroes on snowmobile rides throughout the mountains of Island Park.

Two unique and separate instances in our regions have led law enforcement agencies to use drones, one of the shiniest tools in their ever-growing toolbox. One incident was in Sublette County, Wyoming.

The Snake River Animal Shelter and the Idaho K9 Academy have been partners for many years. As the academy has trained over 300 dogs since 2018, many of them have come from the shelter and others have been from the community.

In a couple weeks Madison County will be filled with the sounds of snowmobiles as the Moody Powder Pushers host their annual event the Snowmobile Scoot and Shoot. The event will take participants all over Madison County as they travel on snowmobiles and participate in the event.
