Rigby High School students win automotive competition

RIGBY, Idaho (KIFI) - On Friday, February 25, Rigby High School automotive students competed at the Webster State Automotive Competition.

They competed against 14 schools from Utah, Oregon and Idaho.

The team consisted of senior students Caden Waddoups, Dylan Arneson and Drew Denning who took 1st place in the competition.

This is the first time a team from Rigby High school has won the competition in the 34 year history of the competition.

The 1st place prize includes tool carts for each of the students and a 2013 Chevrolet Corvette for the program.

Some of the students already have plans to use this great experience for college and later in life.

"What I'm going to do is I'm going to ISU for business," Caden Waddoups said. "I'll probably open up my own shop and be working on cars. I'm hoping that I can do this long term and maybe open up a chain of shops and get out there."

The next competition for these students will be at the state level in Nampa at the end of the month.
