Community Food Basket asks for help purchasing outdoor security cameras to curb ongoing thefts

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - The Community Food Basket has been dealing with repeated thefts the last six months and is asking for your help to buy outdoor security cameras.

In March, the new emergency food distribution building was broken into and vandalized, and with the enormous help of the community, the food basket was able to install an indoor security system.

But, during the last six months, the outside of the center has been the target of multiple thefts.

So far, the food basket says all of the water spigot handles have been taken, all of their hoses to wash down the dock and water the flowers are gone, the chain used to block off the truck dock so no one falls off has been taken two times and on Wednesday, they discovered all of the posts they had purchased to hold signage and anchor the chain across the dock are now gone.

They say someone even dug out all of their flowers.

The food basket has received an bid for four outdoor cameras for the outside of the building but needs some help raising the funds to have it put in.

They need to raise $3,000.

If you can help, click HERE and click on donate now, and in the comments, indicate the donation is for the outdoor cameras.
