Police identify hit and run driver
BONNEVILLE COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 5:20 p.m. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office has identified and contacted the suspect driver involved in this crash.
Police say the driver is a juvenile and is cooperating with investigators. The case will now be referred to the Bonneville County Prosecutor's Office for appropriate charges.
UPDATE 2/9/24: The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office has obtained and released security video as the investigation into a hit and run on Tuesday continues.
Police say the community has been sending in tips and information; however, the identity of the suspect is still unknown.
Deputies were able to obtain security video from nearby businesses, and a portion of it has been released in hopes the person involved will come forward or tips leading to their identity will be revealed.

The sheriff's office said the victim is still being treated for injuries at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
ORIGINAL - Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies are seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle and suspect involved in an injury hit and run crash put a man in the hospital on Tuesday.
Just after 8 p.m., deputies and Idaho Falls Fire responded to Derrald Ave. just east of 25th E. in Ammon where a severely injured man was found in the roadway. Deputies determined the man was struck as he crossed the street by a vehicle that was no longer on scene.
Deputies obtained security video from nearby businesses showing a dark colored extra cab pickup traveling East on Derrald Ave. that struck the man as he walked across the street. As bystanders stopped to help the victim the suspect vehicle left the scene before Emergency Personnel arrived.
The victim was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
